On Day 2 as a non-smoker, I want you to do this…..
Day 2
Today, you may continue to FEEL a little bit empty and lost………
And you will continue to feel the desire to smoke.
Sometimes this desire will be weak.
At other times, it will be quite strong.
Again, be prepared.
EXPECT this.
However, you will also feel 'sad'.
Yes, sad.
You will feel as if you have say good bye to something that 'SEEMED' very nice and special.
As we said yesterday, quitting smoking is in a way like a death.
That part of your life is gone.
It is dead.
Like your childhood or teenage years.
Gone.
But unlike death, this ‘death’ of a part of your life you should celebrate.
Because smoking was NOT your friend.
It was not a help or a benefit.
It may have SEEMED that way (Re-read Module 4 again) …. …..But it was really an evil witch or monster DISGUISED as a friend.
Pretending to be a friend.
The true face of smoking – behind the 'mask' of friendship
Yet, still over the next few days, you will feel sad….as if something is MISSING.
Fine.
There is nothing wrong feeling like this.
But that feeling will go away as soon as you realize that you are NOT really missing out on ANYTHING when you can’t smoke.
Smoking is NOT A REAL NEED.
Imagine you had no air.
That is a REAL need.
Imagine you had no food.
That is a REAL need
.Imagine you had no water.
That is a REAL need.
Imagine you found yourself wretched on a deserted island and you had no cigarettes.
That’s just a temporary discomfort! That will soon disappear forever.
CELEBRATE!
CELEBRATE!
You've taken another step to freedom.
Love the craving to smoke!
Some times during the day, you'll feel restless
Bored.
Empty
.And fed -up.
For JUST a few deadly moments, you'llmay feel a terrible desire to smoke.
The desire will gnaw at you.
You'd just love to smoke.
And even reviewing all the health reasons why you shouldn't smoke won't seem to help at all.
'OK, so they'll kill me….don't care'.
Lung cancer. Might not happen.
Anyway, right now – don't care.'
'Just don't CARE'
Now most people who give up smoking dread moments like this.
They are terrified of them.
But moments like these are your GREATEST
OPPORTUNITIES .
Yes, your GREATEST OPPORTUNITIES!.
They should be welcomed.
Genuinely WELCOMED.
By simply changing your mindset about situations like this, you can change the whole energy of the experience.
It now becomes a CHALLENGE, rather than a problem.
For the first time. don't run away from the energy behind this desire to smoke.
It is an irrational, emotional energy that you can feel in your belly….. It is an nebulous feeling, or energy that we feel we HAVE to obey….that we HAVE to satisfy in order to be happy in this NOW moment.

To get 'COMFORTABLE with your discomfort'.
Because remember……… you don't have much time….Soon it will be gone forever….so appreciate it now when you have the time.
And do you know what…….?
…….At the end of the holiday, you'll discover that this so called ' horrible monster' – the incessant craving to smoke is no big deal at all.
He's actually not a 'bad fellow' when you get to know him.
He's rather weak and powerless.
Just an empty restless felling in your belly……No big deal.
Just accept you'll have it for the next three weeks…and get on with your life.
The ONLY weapon he has is the ability to FOOL you into believing that you HAVE to satisfy this feeling now if you want to be happy.
It is the BIGGEST lie of all.
It is like the loud tantrums of a little child who wants an ice cream.
At that moment, the little child is S-C-R-E-A-M-I-N-G because she believes ABSOLUTELY that HER happiness is wholly DEPENDENT on getting that ice cream NOW.
As adults, we know it's not ….and in a few minutes…the child will be happy, skipping along…..her attention now focused on something else.
But as smokers, we are UTTERLY convinced we need the 'ice cream of that cigarette ' at that moment to be happy.
If we don't get it, we believe we have to be miserable!
The greatest news of all is when we realize we don't have to give in to these cravings ….we can just let them be …..AND CAN still be happy!!
When we really begin to realize that, we are really free.
Well done! WELL DONE!
